Associate Director - Leveraged Finance


Job Description

Position: A diversified financial services company is seeking an Associate Director for its Leveraged Finance practice, based in Dallas, TX. The firm deploys its proprietary capital in a wide variety of industry sectors and can structure financings across the full range of risk, including senior secured, junior secured, and mezzanine structures as well as equity investments. Essential Duties, Requirements and Responsibilities: • Assists with sourcing and underwriting of primarily leveraged senior secured loan transactions • Credit & industry analysis, preparation of internal credit approval memoranda, and establishment and maintenance of relationships with transactions sources such as investment bankers, P/E funds, hedge funds, and advisory firms. • The role entails a complete understanding of a credit through evaluation of financial statements and projections, mgmt performance, industry, competition, capital structure, and collateral analysis of various alternative financing vehicles. • Must be comfortable sourcing new loan transactions by identifying and pre-qualifying potential borrowers, proposing and structuring credit facilities, winning mandates, and assisting in the negotiation of final documentation

 

Requirements

Qualifications: • 5 – 7 years of related corporate credit/leveraged loan underwriting or portfolio mgmt • Team oriented, entrepreneurial and results oriented • Possess strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills; be able to create and cultivate relationships with potential borrowers, intermediaries, and equity sponsors • The ability to read and interpret financial statements, source and propose transactions consistent with the firm’s credit and return objectives, and be able to work independently • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks, while performing efficiently and effectively, both individually and in a dynamic team environment • Excellent written and oral communication skills • An MBA, CPA or CFA (or work experience equivalent) and an undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting or related field • Proficiency in Word and Excel
